What's Involved in Making a Multimedia Video?

by John Marsh

If you are serious about expanding your business and getting into new markets you should consider making a video to promote your business and its products. People all over the world respond to visual stimulus better than they do to anything else. With a video you will be able to reach a far wider audience than you could otherwise.

Not making a promotional video to promote your company and its products means that you are denying yourself access to an audience of millions. A fun promotional or corporate video can easily go viral on-line. That same promotional video can be used for a TV advertising campaign, at trade shows and in other places.

To make a good promotional video it is important that you use a team of professionals. Making a video takes a lot of planning and a wide range of skills. Very few firms if any have the necessary skills to make a good promotional video within their own firm.

The making of a promotional video starts with the writing of a script. A script does far more than lay out the story it guides the actors during the filming process. It tells the actors, the cameraman and the sound man where to be on the set. Without a good script it is impossible to produce a good promotional video.

The 2nd stage of making a video is the drawing up of a storyboard. Most people do not even know what a storyboard is let alone how to write one. The bigger a project is the more vital it is that a storyboard is drawn up.

Good narration is just as important as the way your video looks. A professional voice-over artist can get your message across much more clearly than you can. A good narrator will speak clearly and will capture the attention of your intended audience.
