The Techniques for Getting People to Your Exhibition Stand

by Ruth Williams

Using exhibition stands to promote your products or services is an important consideration in developing a business that is profitable. By taking on this task, you are showcasing your work to potential customers and demonstrating that you are serious about what you do. How can you attract more customers to your particular stand?

It's good to tell someone where you're going.

It's always wise to tell customers and colleagues that you'll be manning an exhibition stand if you'd like to draw more visitors to it. Information about it should have a prominent place on the front page of your website, if you have one. Depending on when you can confirm that you have space set aside at a trade show, be sure to let people know as soon as you can. This is something that will encourage people to either definitely attend or to at least reconsider their schedule.

Do Not Be Afraid To Step Outside Of the Typical

You might believe you need to follow a specific code when you assemble your stand, but this is a false assumption. And it could really be to your advantage over the long term to take some risks and try new things before your peers. Experiment with colors and exhibition graphics; try different lighting and placement techniques; step away from the expected where you can. However, it is important not to go overboard or try too hard. It isn't a good sign of success when those who want to know about you can't figure it out or understand your text.

Choose The Best People To Hire To Run Your Stand

To draw people in, you must have greeters who are extroverted and will reach out to people. They must be able to really get behind the product or service you offer and push it to the public. Hiring shy people can be problematic; they will be ignored by buyers at trade shows, for example. A more outgoing person can call visitors to them, engaging them in the information.

Do Not Go with a Plain Design

At trade shows, there are many exhibition kiosks that have been custom made. Their color schemes and layouts will vary, and some will carry a loud personality meant to grab the attention of attendees. A plain design for your stand will not entice targeted traffic or help you avoid being lost in the crowd. Make a person feel excited or at least curious when they look at your stand. Compel them to come over and visit the first chance they get. You'll be successful if you act this way.
